The Association shall have the following categories of members

Honorary members
Members
Student Members
Life Members
Foreign Members
Sustaining Members
Patron Members, and
Ex-Officio Members.

Honorary Member : A person eminent in the field of Agrometeorology may, after duly nominated by the Council and the nomination ratified by general body meeting of the Association, become an Honorary Member of the Association. The number of Honorary Members cannot exceed five at any given time.

Member : Any person associated with research, teaching, application, transfer and promotion of Agrometeorology (and having a graduate degree) is eligible to apply for membership after paying requisite amount of membership fees. He shall become a Member of the Association under Clause (C) of Rule 1 and shall be entitled to the rights and privileges of the Association as stated in Rule 5. Institutions are not eligible to become Members of the Association. The Council may waive requirements of the degree in special deserving cases.

Student Member : A student registered in a graduate/post graduate course at an educational institution affiliated to a university or enjoying status of a deemed university as approved by the University Grant Commission, can be enrolled as a Student Member on payment of requisite fee and admission fee. He should not be drawing any salary or emoluments other than a scholarship or fellowship. A student member will not have the right to vote or to hold elective office in the Association. He will however be eligible to participate in all activities of the Association. A student member can become a regular member by paying regular membership fee.

Life Member : Any person eligible to apply for membership may choose to apply for being a life Member after paying requisite amount of fee. If approved by the Council, he shall become a life Member of the Association. A Life Member shall be entitled to the same rights and privileges as a Member throughout his life. However, during his stay abroad he shall have to pay annually the difference between the dues payable by a Foreign Member and a Member to be able to enjoy these rights and privileges.

Foreign Member : Any person who is residing outside India and who is otherwise eligible to become a Member/Life Member, can be enrolled as a Foreign Member after paying requisite amount of fee. Any Member/Life Member of the Association residing outside India shall also be treated as Foreign Member for the period of his stay abroad. A Foreign Member shall have the same rights and privileges as a Member except the right to vote and the right to hold elective office.

Sustaining Member : Any institution or a recognised statutory body, a Department of the Central or the State Government or a Registered Commercial or Industrial undertaking interested in Agrometeorology and agreeing to promote the aims and objectives of the Association and to assist financially in the work of the Association shall be eligible for election as a Sustaining Member. A Sustaining institution has the right to nominate one of their employee as a Sustaining Member. A Sustaining Member shall be entitled to same rights and privileges as a Member except the right to vote and the right to hold elective office. The Sustaining Member shall be given opportunity to have approved exhibits at the meetings of the Association at concessional rates.

Patron Member : Any institution or a recognized statutory body, a Department of the Central or the State Government or a Registered Commercial or Industrial undertaking interested in Agrometeorology and agreeing to promote the aims and objectives of the Association and to assist the Association on long term basis by paying a fixed sum, as decided by the Council, can be elected as a Patron Member. A Patron Member shall be entitled to nominate one of its employees interested in Agrometeorology as a Patron Member of the Association. A Patron Member shall have same rights and privileges as a Sustaining Member.

Ex-Officio Member : An outgoing President shall be Ex-Officio member of the Council during the immediately following term.
